• Make your subscribe buttons stick out from your page.
• Use pop ups.
• Ask your visitors to subscribe.
• Offer an incentive.
• Less is more.
• Test the above.
• Test again.

... well, there are ten items, two are clearly outdated ... and rewording does not really count, does it?
